About London Christmas Tree Rental

How It All Began

It started with a walk through London one cold January. Seeing discarded Christmas trees lining the streets, our founder Jonathan wondered whether there could be a better way to celebrate Christmas.

That question became London Christmas Tree Rental.

We began by offering living, pot-grown Christmas trees that customers could enjoy over the festive season and return afterwards, giving suitable trees the opportunity to grow and be enjoyed again.

Today, that original idea has evolved into something bigger: a platform bringing together Christmas tree rental, responsible cut-tree collection and recycling, and professional decorating services.

Rethinking the Christmas Tree Tradition

We believe Christmas should be beautiful, memorable and enjoyable, without overlooking what happens to the things we buy once the celebrations are over.

Our pot-grown rental trees remain an important part of our story. But we also recognise that customers have different requirements, from a living tree at home to a traditional cut tree in a hotel, office or commercial venue.

Through our growing network of independent partners, we offer customers greater choice while making end-of-season return, collection and recycling arrangements part of the conversation from the outset.

Expanding the Meaning of Rental

What if renting a Christmas tree wasn't simply about borrowing a living tree?

What if it also meant enjoying a traditional cut Christmas tree, with an agreed arrangement for its collection or return and appropriate recycling after Christmas?

That's the thinking behind our expanding partner network.

London Christmas Tree Rental provides a central platform connecting customers with independent suppliers offering pot-grown rental trees, cut Christmas trees with planned recycling arrangements, and specialist Christmas decorating services.

Our partners manage their own stock, deliveries, collections and fulfilment, while we provide the online platform that brings everything together.

Sustainability Is About the Whole Journey

We believe the environmental conversation around Christmas trees should go beyond the moment a tree is purchased.

How was it grown? How far has it travelled? Can it be cared for and reused? What happens when Christmas is over?

Every Christmas tree has an environmental footprint, whether it is living, cut or artificial. Growing, manufacturing, transporting, maintaining and disposing of products all involve resources.

Our approach is to encourage customers to consider the full journey of their Christmas tree and provide practical options for rental, return and appropriate recycling.

We don't believe Christmas can be impact-free. We do believe we can make more thoughtful decisions about how we celebrate it.

Supporting Businesses with Sustainability as an Objective

Christmas is an important opportunity for businesses to create welcoming spaces for employees, customers and visitors. It is also an opportunity to think differently about procurement and resource management.

Whether you are a B Corp-certified organisation, working towards certification, developing an ESG strategy or simply reviewing your environmental practices, we want to help you make more considered festive purchasing decisions.

Our platform provides access to rental and planned recycling options, independent suppliers and professional decorating services, with greater consideration given to what happens after Christmas.

For offices, hotels, hospitality venues, retailers and commercial spaces, we aim to make it easier to combine festive presentation with practical end-of-season arrangements.

Responsible business practices shouldn't stop when the decorations go up.

What Happens After Christmas Matters

For us, the festive season doesn't end when the decorations come down.

Living trees need appropriate care if they are to be returned and potentially enjoyed again. Cut trees need a considered end-of-life arrangement rather than simply being abandoned on the street.

Our partner-led model encourages clear collection, return and recycling arrangements, with each supplier responsible for managing the services they provide.

By bringing these options together through one platform, we aim to make responsible end-of-season planning simpler for households and businesses alike.

The Future of Christmas

Our ambition is to build a network that connects customers with independent Christmas tree suppliers who share an interest in providing practical alternatives to the traditional buy-and-dispose approach.

By supporting local enterprise, expanding access to rental and recycling services, and developing our professional decorating offering, we hope to make more considered Christmas choices easier and more accessible.

We know there is always more to learn and improve. As our platform grows, so will our approach.

Because Christmas is about more than one day.

What happens afterwards matters too.
